This painting is located at our Glenelg gallery - 2 Jetty Road, Glenelg (Stamford Grand)

"Pollyanne depicts her mother's ancestral land located to the west of Kaltjiti and to the south of Watarru in her artwork. She has chosen to portray the Women's camp, inspired by the description provided by her Aunty, Manyitjanu. Mamungarinya is a distant location, situated on the other side of the sand dunes beyond Tipilnga. It is characterized by the proliferation of white marble gums, a place where, according to the Tjukurpa narrative, women were transformed into the white marble gums on the sand dune to the south of Watarru. Mamungarinya is a place where numerous young gum saplings and emu bushes thrive, surrounded by claypans. This is a sacred women's site situated in the southwestern region of Watarru. Here, the landscape is defined by the presence of abundant marble gums and an expanse of sand dunes. Amidst these white marble gums, there is a substantial pool of pristine freshwater, reminiscent of a clay pan filled with revitalizing water following rainfall.""
