Spinnifex Dreaming by Chern'ee Sutton. Comes with Certificate of Authenticity.

"My name is Chern’ee Sutton and I am a contemporary Indigenous artist from the Kalkadoon people from the Mount Isa area in Queensland. This is my interpretation of “Watjin Ritjinguthinha” which means in the Kalkadoon language “Spinnifex Dreaming”.

This painting is about the spinifex which is abundant in my beautiful country of Mount Isa. It is home to many birds and animals like the spinifex pigeon which are represented by the feathers and footprints. It is also home to the precious spinifex resin that is represented by the grey and black, this resource has been harvested from the spinifex plant by my ancestors since the beginning of time. The resin is melted over heat and then used as a glue to bind spear tips, axe heads, weapons and tools together and when set it dries as hard as cement."

Painting comes un-stretched.
